SMART Visa – Ultimate Solutions Asia

There is a new type of visa available, known as the SMART visa. This category of visa is aiming to attract foreign talents in specific innovative industries.

There are 5 types of SMART visa’s.

Smart T ( Talent )

Highly skilled professionals in the targeted industries

Science and technology experts
Salary ≥ 100,000 baht/month
Employment contract with remaining validity of ≥ 1 year
Employing companies being in the targeted industries

Smart I ( Investors )

Investors in technology-based business in the targeted industries

Minimum direct investment of 20 million baht
Investing in companies using technology in manufacturing or delivering services and being in the targeted industries

Smart E ( Excutives )

Senior executives in technology-based companies in the targeted industries

Holder of Bachelor’s degrees or higher with work experience ≥ 10 years
Salary≥ 200,000 baht/month
Employment contract with remaining validity of ≥ 1 year
High-levels executives
Working for companies using technology in manufacturing or delivering services and being in the targeted industries

Smart S ( Startup )

Technology-based startup entrepreneurs in the targeted industries

Fixed deposit of ≥ 600,000 baht with the remaining maturity term of ≥ 1 year
Health insurance
Participating in an endorsed incubation, accelerator program or a similar program/or obtaining joint venture with or being endorsed by a relevant government agency
Must set up a company in the targeted industries in Thailand within 1 year with at least 25% ownership or being a board member

Smart O ( Other )

Refers to the legal dependents spouse and children of the main Smart Visa holders, allowing them to live and work in Thailand equivalent to Smart Visa holders.

The initial steps of the application are submitted online and must be considered and approved by all the relevant government departments, prior to proceeding to the next step.
