Visa amnesty period extended to 26 SEP 2020

Foreign citizens on short-term visas should plan to leave or can stay longer but with some conditions applied.

Latest update news based on Immigration Police Press Release on 22 July 2020 (via Immigration Bureau Facebook Live), :

Option 1: Foreign citizens (holding short term visas (i.e. tourist visa, TR, TS, VOA) can plan to leave Thailand before 26 Sep 2020.

Option 2: Foreign citizens who do not prefer or could not fly back to their home or destination countries by 26 Sep 2020 due to following restrictions:

  1. Sickness / Ongoing Medical Treatment – supporting letter from hospital required.
  2. No flights or boarder closed due to covid-19 pandemic in the destination country – supporting letter from the national embassy required.
  • Visa Extension will be permitted for 30 days at a time.
  • A supporting letter from the hospital or from the national embassy of the foreign citizens is required for the visa extension.
  • The submitting for the visa extension at local immigration office is open from 1 Aug 2020 to26 Sep 2020
  • The extension period will be granted from 27Sep 2020 to 26 Oct 2020 no matter what date of submission it would be.
  • 90 day notification report should be done ASAP if you intended to get visa extension — online option: https://www.immigration.go.th/en/#serviceonline

Remark: foreigners who are on long terms stay visa (1-2 years validity) such as work visa, Thai wife visa, retirement visa, student visa, guardian visa, etc. – please keep your visa valid, keep your 90 days notification reporting at due time and make sure that your tenant or home owner where you stay registered T.M. 30 for you.
